I rented an apartment from Magarick Real Estate Associates from 2017 to 2019. You should know that if you are to rent from this landlord, she may very well try to take a portion of your security deposit when you leave the property. I left the apartment in clean condition and received a largely unwarranted $120 deduction from my deposit. The landlord tried to deduct money for a stain in the apartment that was there when I first moved in, for a "dirty" toilet that was in fact clean, and most absurdly, for having water marks in the sink. There was one part of the kitchen I forgot to clean, and trying to reach a compromise, I offered to pay a $50 or even $60 deduction for this. (The rest of the apartment was spotless.) The landlord refused.
I've accepted that I'm not getting the money back, but I only wish I hadn't been paying rent to this company for the past two years. There are plenty of other landlords in Philadelphia with fair business practices.
